TIM’s Miniatures & Musings (No: 61)

Welcome to this weeks Miniatures & Musings!

Another Hasslefree Miniature this week, this one goes by the name of “Vince”.  As with “Earl” which I posted a few weeks ago, this figure was intended to be a part of a diorama which failed to get off the ground.

Interesting Site?

I thought I would share this site with you this week – Small Scale Lights.

This one women site is run by Jennifer and it was from her that I bought the bits and pieces for the three models I put together where I used lighting.  I am no electrician but all we are talking about here is a battery holder, a switch and linking some wires.  Simples.  The harder part is concealing the components but even that is easy if you like scenery.

Lighting is so cool and inexpensive that I don’t know why more people have not embraced it.  She also has a small section for Warhammer 40k/SciFi.  Just looking at her site again has got me thinking of what I might do next.

This week TIM has been listening to …

“The Monster Mash” by Bobby ‘ Boris’ Pickett and the Crypt Kickers.  By chance I stumbled across this track which I hadn’t heard in absolutely years so I thought I would share it!

This week TIM has been watching…

“Dances with Wolves” starring Kevin Costner.  It will come as no surprise for you to learn that I do like a good western movie.  I suspect I will feature more in future posts but for now I will kick off with this one.  I do like a long film, the longer the better as far as I am concerned, providing it’s a good one of course.  So I was in my element sitting down to the 4 hour version of Dances With Wolves.  My sympathy has always been with the Indians which is why I love this film.

  1. Bugger me mate at first I thought you had done dio of IRO looking for payment from one of his clients! Nice use of the plastic mesh, I think you have introduced us to that before ,it certainly works well.
Life has taken a turn for the worst here, the powers to be have just decided to close us down completely, again I’m excluded but now I have an official pass that I have to show the old bill that allows me to keep the Australian economy going ,thanks for putting in a good word for me last week !
Cheers mate, keep the pecker up and keep yourself and the good family safe .

      1. My wife and I are thanks mate ,fortunately Tech adviser is in Sth Australia safe, only two cases over there, and the young one is down in Geelong and they are doing ok down there, I truly cant see where it will all end, but like our parent we will just have to soldier on and be thankful we are not at war with those terrible ration problems they had in the war.

  2. From the preview pic, it looked like the little fig was doing the peepee dance! Much more impressive when I clicked on it though! Nice work and I like the muscles and the little props in back. Love those little touches. He might have also gone well with a brick wall behind him, but the little bits you put there evoke more of a story setting.

  3. He’s great, the facial hair looks especially well painted. I feel like he’s possibly leaning forward a little too much considering the leg position but this might be just an artifact of the photography.

  4. I really like the basing you did on this little dio. It seems like you’re getting better and better at fleshing out an apocalytpic wasteland! I agree with Argent above that he looks like he is leaning so far forward that he is about to keel over after being short or something along those lines (which fits the setting well). I can’t tell if that was intentional on your part or the manufacturer’s but it definitely makes for an interesting mini.
